You are invited to support the the ICT teachers Capacity Development Workshops (CDW) being organized by the ICT Teachers Association of Uganda in conjunction with various schools in all regions across the country. Some of the upcoming workshops include the Western region CDW at Kyebambe Girls SS in Fort Portal on 6th July 2019, the Northern region CDW at Dr. Obote College, Boroboro in Lira on 13th July and the Eastern Region CDW at Busoga College Mwiri in Jinja on 19th July 2019 (click on the respective links for each CDW’s details).

Supporting these workshops is an ideal way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to promoting ICTs in schools and Uganda’s ICT industry in general. The ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is championing the noble cause of fighting computer illiteracy and bridging the digital divide through continued empowerment and tooling of ICT teachers as change agents.

ICT is a highly evolving subject and through such workshops, ICT Teachers get a chance to share new knowledge and continuously improve their skills and capacity for teaching ICT and managing ICTs in schools.

Key messages at the recent 2019 CDW.

Overview of the first ITAU CDW which was held last year.

Through ITAU, ICT teachers countrywide are putting efforts and minds together to support each other to innovatively improve their methods of work and improve their capacity, thereby promoting ICT education, increasing computer literacy and bridging the digital divide in Uganda. Since 2018 when the association was started, the current membership of ITAU stands at 410 registered members, but this number keeps growing and all teachers of ICT and Computer Studies are welcomed.

How your sponsorship helps

Sponsorship typically supports a greater number of teachers, especially those from rural schools, to attend the CDW at reduced fees. If the workshop fee is considered together with other expenses like transport, tshirt, etc, the total cost becomes prohibitive for many teachers, especially those from poorly performing schools who need capacity development most.

Exhibitions by sponsors also help inform the participants of their solutions (products and services) available for schools, or those technologies teachers can recommend for use in their schools for various tasks.
