You are invited to support the the second annual national ICT teachers capacity development workshop (CDW) scheduled for 6th – 7th May 2019, organized by the ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) and hosted by Kololo Senior Secondary School, Kampala.
This is an ideal way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to promoting ICT education. The ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is championing the noble cause of fighting computer illiteracy and bridging the digital divide through continued empowerment and tooling of ICT teachers as change agents.
One planned avenue is through organization of several national and regional workshops and seminars. ICT is a highly evolving subject and through such workshops, ICT Teachers get a chance to share new knowledge and continuously improve their skills and capacity for teaching ICT and managing ICTs in schools.
Overview of the first ITAU CDW which was held last year.
Through ITAU, ICT teachers countrywide are putting efforts and minds together to support each other to innovatively improve their methods of work and improve their capacity, thereby promoting ICT education, increasing computer literacy and bridging the digital divide in Uganda. Since 2018 when the association was started, the current membership of ITAU stands at 393 registered members, but this number keeps growing and all teachers of ICT and Computer Studies are welcomed.
Sponsorship typically supports a greater number of teachers, especially those from rural schools, to attend the CDW at reduced fees. According to the invitation letter ( [PDF] Invitation Letter ITAU Capacity Development Workshop 2019 (97 downloads) ), the workshop entry fee for residents is UGX 60,000. If this is considered together with other expenses like transport, tshirt, etc, the total cost becomes prohibitive for many teachers, especially those from poorly performing schools who need capacity development most.
Exhibitions by sponsors also help inform the participants of their solutions (products and services) available for schools, or those technologies teachers can recommend for use in their schools for various tasks.
We have three main sponsorship levels: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Your support is very important to the workshop, and the ITAU NEC/ organizing committee ensures that these contributions are well utilized and recognized. We list the benefits and costs below.
Gold (UGX 5,000,000)
Silver (UGX 1000,000)
Bronze (UGX 300,000)
Other modes of sponsorship
Sponsorships at lower levels will be considered, with benefits negotiated between the Workshop Coordinator and the Sponsor. If you have a different way you would like to support the workshop, such as provision of a service or a different sponsorship amount, please contact us through Tel: +256776960740 / +256702840404, Email: email@example.com.
