With every version of Microsoft Office released, there is a hoard of improvements a user definitely benefits from. However, sometimes in the beginning, we tend not to appreciate the new features and find ourselves sticking to the older versions. Even a change in the interface is scary for some of us.
Being one person who enjoys trying out new things, I welcome every version with open arms. But one thing that I kept missing 2 things in the latest version of Office – the old style of WordArt and Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If you are one person that also misses these features, read on for a work around.
Microsoft Office Picture Manager
If you are one person who deals a lot with pictures in your day to day work, this is one tool that you find handy. Apart from cropping the unwanted parts of a picture, it also simplifies the work of compressing the pictures to smaller sizes and playing around with the brightness and contrast.
How do I get it to work on Office 2016?
After installing Office 2016, I will also install Office 2007 but with a few changes. I will opt for a custom install and disable all options from Microsoft Access up to Microsoft shared Features.
Click the + sign at Office Tools and disable all options apart from Picture manager and then complete the installation. That’s it – I will have Office 2016 and my legendary Picture Manager on my PC.
Old style WordArt
This will not require an extra installation but rather a work around. In Word 2016, simply save your document in the old format (Word 97-2003 document). The old WordArt menu will automatically be activated. You can then insert your desired WordArt styles.
