WordCamp Entebbe 2023

All interested subject teachers and students are specially invited to attend the upcoming WordCamp Entebbe 2023 conference which will take place on Friday 10th – Saturday 11th March 2023 at Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) / Entebbe Zoo.

They will learn more on using the world’s most popular web design software – WordPress, to build dynamic and static websites for various purposes, including ICT integration into student / club projects as needed in the new curriculum, academic purposes as required by UNEB during UCE computer studies practical exams and occupational / world of work assessment as required by DIT. They will gain more skills on creating modern, efficient websites, enabling them to support their schools in development, management and maintenance of school websites and also gain vocational skills for earning side income through website design.  Everyone is encouraged to carry a laptop for the practical sessions. There will also be a free tour of the zoo! Find attached tentative program for the two-day workshop.

The entry fee for the workshop is only UGX 40,000 for a ticket which grants you access to the zoo, all workshop tracks, meals (breakfast and lunch for the two days), a WordCamp T-shirt, internet access, training materials and other logistics! There are two good dormitories managed by Uganda Wildlife Education Center (Entebbe Zoo) which will provide optional accommodation at UGX 30,000. Beds are available but participants are encouraged to carry bedsheets and personal effects. For those who prefer private accommodation outside the Zoo, there are self-contained guest houses at an average fee of UGX 50,000. Transport from Kampala Taxi Park to Entebbe Zoo is only UGX 5,000.
