The ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is hereby reaching out to partners and sponsors for support towards subsidizing the upcoming National Capacity Development Workshop (CDW) for ICT Teachers, slated for Tue 19th – Thur 21st April 2022 at Trinity College, Nabbingo and other similar regional workshops to be conducted across the country thorough the year.

The workshops will address skill and knowledge gaps teachers are facing during this season, especially now that the education system has been changed to emphasize practical skills, projects, clubs, ICT integration, attitudes and values geared towards the overall goal of producing graduates who are competitive in the World of Work (WoW), as detailed in invitation letter and tentative program attached.

Supporting these workshops is an ideal way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to promoting ICT Integration in schools and Uganda’s ICT industry in general. ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is a network of teachers of Computer Studies / ICT across all levels of education in Uganda. ITAU is championing the noble cause of fighting computer illiteracy and bridging the digital divide through continued empowerment and ICT skilling and tooling of teachers as change agents.

ITAU exists to promote ICT literacy and Integration in all subjects in Education and other spheres of daily life.  ITAU’s Motto is ‘Together Against Computer Illiteracy’. ICT is a highly evolving subject and through such workshops, ICT Teachers get a chance to share new knowledge and continuously improve their skills and capacity for teaching ICT, teaching with ICT, and managing ICTs in schools.

Sponsorship typically supports a greater number of teachers, especially those from rural schools, to attend the CDW at reduced fees. If the workshop fee is considered together with other expenses like transport, accommodation, etc, the total cost becomes prohibitive for many teachers, especially those from poorly performing schools who need capacity development most.

A provision for exhibition by sponsors is usually organized so that they can share about their solutions (products and services) available for schools, or those technologies teachers can recommend for use in their schools for various school processes.
