A one-week online training workshop focusing on e learning has been organized for teachers, starting Monday 30th August to Saturday 4th Sept, 2021. There will be two 1.5 hour sessions daily, the first starting 10:00am-11:30am and the second session starting at 4:00-5:30pm.
Teachers will be taken through several topics, including setup and administering zoom lessons, creation of instructional content (presentations and videos), collaboration with email and Google Drive, working with mobile devices, and social media, use of Google Classroom for assessment of learners work, setting up a school YouTube Channel and school blog, building a Kolibri-powered digital library plus best practices and strategies for conducting online classes as a school.
The training is free of charge, sponsored by Edify Uganda for partner schools under Christian Schools Owners Association Uganda, and facilitated by trainers from the ICT Teachers Association of Uganda. The Trainers include: Stephen Dumba (Day1), Godfrey Mukisa (Day 2), Moses Ssebunya (Day 3), Henry Ssekitto (Day 4), Emorut George (Day 5) and Rogers Mukalele (Day 6). Certificates will be given to only the teachers who attend most of the live sessions and attempt all the training assignments.
COHORT ONE
Cohort One of the same training was conducted in Early August from 3rd to 13th. 100 teachers graduated after accomplishing the training and obtained certificates. The video below contains highlights of the training.
