Magezi Solutions, a pioneer company in the development of software for schools has launched Uganda’s first entirely virtual primary and secondary school. The school, called Magezi Academy, comes at a time when students are stuck at home with no meaningful interaction with their teachers due to the abrupt closure of schools.
Magezi Academy will cover the entire Primary and Secondary school levels with notes, illustrations, assignments, quizzes and video conferencing in all subjects with content from Uganda’s cream of teachers.
development also comes as a relief to teachers who have authoured books but haven’t
gained anything due to unscrupulous businessmen who duplicate their literary
works. Teachers will have to signup on the system before being given rights to
upload content which will then be viewed by subscribed students.
teachers stood to benefit, Mr. Egesa Leonard of Magezi Solutions informed this
website that enrolled teachers would earn 50% of what student subscribers paid.
Putting it into perspective, if a teacher had 100 students in a class where
each student paid UGX 10,000/=, the teacher would be entitled to UGX 500,000/=.
A visit to the school website shows that all you need to create an account is your name, username, telephone contact and email.
Teachers who are ready to start creating content have been encouraged to create their accounts using this link.
