Invitation to the ICT Teachers Retreat Workshop On Financial Empowerment, ITAU SACCO And The Role of ICT Teachers In The Implementation of the New Curriculum, Fri 28th – Sat 29th May, 2021 At Muntuyera High School

We cordially invite you to a 2-day retreat workshop for ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) members and well-wishers from Fri 28^th to Sat 29^th May, 2021 at Muntuyera High School – Kitunga, Ntungamo District. This will be during the upcoming short holiday for semi candidates.

Last year amid challenges the COVID-19 school closure posed to the teachers, we registered the ITAU SACCO with the objective of promoting financial literacy and teacher entrepreneurship – so that teachers learn not to rely on school salaries alone. We intend to do rotational meetings in all regions, but for now we have found it suitable to host our first general meeting at Muntuyera High School, one of the SESEMAT and new curriculum training centers in western region.

We shall also be networking, reflecting on our role in the new curriculum implementation and sharing the latest resources from several just concluded workshops – so that members who may have missed out can be brought up to speed. On financial empowerment, in addition to listening to inspirational speakers, we shall have a hands-on session focusing on earning side income from doing websites for schools and other businesses and organizations using WordPress software. The calculated workshop fee will be UGX 75,000, and this will meet venue costs, meals, accommodation, training materials, resources and facilitation. We are still actively mobilizing some sponsors with the hope of subsidizing this workshop fee for the members, and we shall keep all registered members updated on this.
