In 2020, the Government of Uganda announced the roll out of a new curriculum starting with the Senior 1 learners. The National Curriculum Development Center then went on a nation wide training of teachers on how to implement this curriculum. Resources on this curriculum were even shared on the NCDC website and many other platforms like here on ITAU, Sharebility Uganda and others.
It must be noted that all available resources were simply availed to the learner with little help from teachers due to the prevailing Covid circumstances. There were several efforts to engage learners but if you notice, they were done randomly and didn’t cater for the whole learner’s needs. That is how senior1.org came in.
Senior1.org, an elearning platform dedicated to the senior 1 learner was launched virtually on 13th November 2021
