The ICT Teachers Association of Uganda seeks to expand to all corners of Uganda, and is calling upon representatives from all regions and sub regions of the country to join the executive committee in order to achieve the objectives of the association as stipulated in the constitution.
Administrative ITAU Regions and Sub Regions
ITAU has adopted the official regions and sub regions of Uganda in its admistrative structure. Uganda is currently divided into 127 districts and the capital city of Kampala, which are grouped into four administrative regions. The regions have smaller subregions which are mainly based on ethinicity of the people as illustrated below.
NB: Find a list of schools in each region and sub regions here. You can also follow the links in the above table for more information about each subregion.
ITAU Workplan for Regions
During the recent ITAU NEC meeting, members resolved to conduct seminars for students in all regions in addition to other activities like Teachers workshops, Students Club competions, SACCO, etc. ITAU seeks to work tirelessly together to support the community of ICT teachers to innovatively improve in our methods of work, thereby promoting ICT education and increasing computer literacy in Uganda, through coordinated discussion platforms, workshops, seminars, events, national ICT competitions, debates, regular meetings, member guidance and counseling, resource sharing, projects, pooling finances and creating effective links/ connections to partner organisations, agancies and companies which can support the ICT Teachers community.
ITAU therefore requires moblisers in all regions countrywide if the association is to achieve its objectives. However, the exisiting regional committees have some gaps, and some sub regions are not represented.
